Byron Hill

Byron Hill is from Winston-Salem, NC. Since moving to Nashville and signing his first publishing deal in 1978, Byron Hill has written songs released on seventy-eight RIAA certified Gold and Platinum albums and singles, that earned ten ASCAP awards, thirty-two U.S. and Canadian top-ten chart hits, and numerous hits in other worldwide markets. Songs such as “Fool Hearted Memory” (George Strait), “Pickin’ Up Strangers” (Johnny Lee), “Nothing On But The Radio”(Gary Allan), and “Born Country” (Alabama), are just a few of the notable songs in his recorded catalog spans four decades and includes songs recorded by a long list of iconic and current artists of our time including Ray Charles, Alabama, George Strait, Jason Aldean, Mark Chesnutt, Kenny Rogers, Don Williams, John Michael Montgomery, Anne Murray, Juice Newton, Joe Nichols, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, Gary Allan, Rhonda Vincent, Johnny Lee, Blackhawk, Tracy Byrd, Neal McCoy, Doc & Merle Watson, Trace Adkins, Tommy Overstreet, Gil Grand, Asleep At The Wheel, Dionne Warwick, George Jones, Toby Keith, Gene Watson, Margo Smith, Tom Wopat, Mark Wills, The Kendalls, Porter Wagoner, Reba McEntire, Sammy Kershaw, Ed Bruce, Shanana, Moe Bandy, Clint Eastwood, Gord Bamford, Joe Diffie, Brooks & Dunn, Hank Thompson, Mila Mason, Larry Stewart, Doug Supernaw, The Road Hammers, Tyler England, Bill Medley, Conway Twitty, Jeff Bates, Highway 101, Clifford Curry, Doug Stone, Barbara Mandrell, Mel McDaniel, Rhett Akins, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Whites, Ricky Van Shelton, Rockie Lynne, The Seekers, Hey Romeo, The Boom Chucka Boys, Colt Ford, Mo Pitney, The Grascals, and many others. His songs have been recorded throughout the world, and released by artists in the United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Holland, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. In Canada Byron was awarded CCMA Songwriter Of The Year in 2012, and CCMA Producer Of The Year in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013. With song catalogs at various publishers including Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing, Warner Chappell Music and other companies, Byron is currently a staff songwriter at Dan Hodges Music LLC. Byron also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).
