APRIL 7, 2016 (Updated) – Australian duo The Long And Short Of It has released an amazing futuristic video of ‘Two Thousand Years From Now” (Hill) from their You Made Me Stronger CD. The song “Is It Friday Yet” (Hill/Brown/Bamford) which was a hit in 2012 by Canadian artist Gord Bamford, has been licensed for exhibition use at the National Music Centre in Toronto. Gord will also release three of Byron’s songs on his new Tin Roof CD on Sony/Canada on April 8th. The compilation album Country Heat 2014 on Sony/Warner/Canada containing the #1 song “When Your Lips Are So Close” (Hill/Baxter/Bamford) has been certified Gold by Music Canada. Lynne Taylor Donovan has recorded and released (April 2) “The Strong One” (Hill/Rawson) as a single in the UK, Europe, and parts of Australia and went #1 (for three weeks in a row) on the Hotdisc chart. The song was originally a chart hit for Atlantic artist Mila Mason in the states in 1998. Colleen Rae has released “For Rich Or For Poor” (Hill/Rae) on her Look At Her Go CD in Canada and is back on the charts with her first single from the new album. Banner Records artist Laurie Shaw reached #11 the Hotdisc (UK) chart with “How Do I Unlove You” (Hill/Hiller) from her Breathless CD and is starting to break ground at radio in the states. DK Davis went to #1 on several independent and internet radio charts, and hit #13 on the Hotdisc (UK) chart with “You’re In The Country”, a song Byron wrote with Chris Cagle many years ago. Danielle Marie’s critically acclaimed cut “Drive Away” (Hill/Marie) continues to move up the Trax/Canada chart. Brad Sims has recorded two songs and first released the song “Blue Jeans” (Hill/Dodson/Bamford) as a single with current chart activity on the Trax/Canada chart. Coming soon will be Brad’s next single will be “Our Night To Fly” (Hill/Bamford/Owens). Gil Grand released “She’ll Always Be Mine” (Grand/East) as a single on April 8th, a recording that Byron co-produced with Gil. The recording marks the re-uniting of Gil and Byron in the studio for the first time since Gil’s breakout success in the U.S. and Canada on Monument Records/Nashville in 1998. Byron will be back in the studio with Country artist Michael Cosner soon to record Cosner’s second EP. Chas Collins has recorded a Byron Hill/Kevin Fisher song in Nashville for his upcoming EP. Canadian artist Becca has recorded “Fool My Heart” (Hill/Brown/Hess) with producer Lenny Bertoldo, and plans to release it as a single on May 30th in Canada.
