SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 – Thank you to WSM Radio’s Bill Cody and Charlie Mattos of the WSM Coffee, Country & Cody show for listing eleven Country Music Hall of Fame inductees who have recorded Byron’s songs! And speaking of lists, when you’ve written a song that appears on Rolling Stone Magazine’s list 25 Hottest Country Songs About Sex, you’ve gotta mention it. Yes, Gary Allan’s recording of “Nothing On But The Radio” made the list! Australian artist Amber Lawrence’s CD entitled Happy Ever After is available on iTunes. The CD contains the song “Alright, Alright, Alright” (Hill/Lawrence) and is set for release September 30th on Social Family Records, Pty. Ltd. Canadian singer/songwriter Ian Janes will soon be releasing his debut CD, which will contain a song Byron and Ian co-wrote. This was reported earlier in the summer, but we now know for sure that the legendary Mickey Gilley ‘s next album will be entitled Kickin’ It Down The Road, and will include the song “Kickin’ It Down The Road” (Hill/Cosner/Kenny). The album is set for early fall 2016. Rising country artist Mo Pitney will release his debut Curb Records project Behind This Guitar on October 7. The album contains the song “Come Do A Little Life” (Hill/Pitney/Nance). The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened the Alabama: Song of the South exhibition on August 25, and will run through July 16, 2017. The exhibit details the group Alabama’s journey to success through childhood mementos, musical instruments, tour memorabilia, awards, photographs, and includes the original manuscript to the song “Born Country” (Hill/Schweers), which was a #1 hit for Alabama in 1992. Curb Records artist Rachel Holder has recorded a new song she co-wrote with Byron Hill and Lacy Green. Award winning Australian (2016 People’s Choice ‘Most Promising New Artist’, and 2015 Brumby “Best Female Vocalist’) Becci Nethery has released “Can’t Just Kiss You” (Hill/Schott) on her Beautiful Life CD.
