OCTOBER 28, 2018 (UPDATED) – The 48th anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame gala was held on October 28th. Byron Hill, Wayne Kirkpatrick, Joe Melson, K.T. Oslin, and Ronnie Dunn were inducted into the Hall. It was an incredible night for all the inductees with heartwarming introductions and a star-filled evening of performances. Singer/Songwriter and longtime friend and co-writer Mike Dekle delivered an eloquent introduction followed by a performance of two of Byron’s songs sung specially for the event by New Rounder Records recording artist Shawn Camp of the Earls of Leicester (singing “Born Country”), and Curb Records recording artist Mo Pitney and his wife Emily Pitney (singing “Fool Hearted Memory”).

A quote from Byron’s acceptance speech: “…Always seeing Music Row as a monument has been one of the most enjoyable parts of my journey. The buildings, the history, the talented people in our industry who have come and gone. The years go by and it’s a strange feeling when you wake up one day and realize you’re in, you’re here, and some of your songs have become a small part of what makes Music Row such a special place. I hope every songwriter who comes to Nashville gets to feel that.”-BH
